It is possible to hike to Black Mt (8255 ft) from the Avenue side or the Emigration Canyon side. But we plan to go there from the Emigration Canyon side. I have hiked this route solo close to the summit but did not go to the summit. Approximately 9 miles RT with 2000 ft gain. There are steep sections. There is no trail for the last one mile.
