DESCRIPTION:Note: This is not a rock climbing activity but there is no caving category on the calendar and rock climbing/canyoneering is the next closest thing. \nPlunge into Neffs Cave with us. As the 15th deepest cave in the United States\, this absolute beast drops over 1\,000 feet into the earth. We’ll be following the historic footsteps of Wasatch Mountain Club members who conquered its depths back in 1953. \nExpect an intense\, multi-hour journey involving heavy rappelling and ascending in complete\, pitch-black darkness. The climb back out is very strenuous and requires a high level of endurance. \nTo ensure we make it there and back safely\, we will be accompanied by experienced cavers from the Timpanogos Grotto that know this cave inside and out. \nPrior caving experience is awesome\, but solid climbing or canyoneering skills are a great baseline. Depending on your background\, a few mandatory pre-trip training sessions may be required. \nSpecialized caving gear is required. We might have loaners available\, so don’t let this stop you from inquiring. \nStrict limit of 5 participants (2 of which are already full). Let me know if you are interested.
